In My Mailbox (30)

In My Mailbox was started by Kristi of The Story Siren and inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. Sadly the only books I order are those that are hard to find. The following books are from the library and bookstores.

Title: Gateway to the Gods2

But that's nothing compared to what they're about to experience. April and the others know that the main reason they're still alive is because of their survival instincts and real-world knowledge. But in Everworld, even the things that you trust to keep you safe can be the very things to take your life..."

Author: K.A. Applegate
Title: Brave the Betrayal3
Series: Everworld (book 8)
Publication Date: 2000
Synopsis: "Jalil, David, Christopher and April have definitely made some mistakes since they've been trapped in Everworld. You have to admit, it's got to be pretty tough not to screw up when you find yourself in a place that makes absolutely no sense. So, it's pretty understandable that Jalil and the others wouldn't think twice about trading a chemistry book for an unbelievably sharp knife. For protection. After all, the Coo-Hatch seemed harmless enough. Just another group of transplanted aliens who managed to end up in Everworld. Now it seems those same aliens are combining the textbook information with their own technology to create horrific new weapons. And guess who they plan to use them on...?"

Last week it completely slipped my mind that I had bought 4:50 from Paddington by Agatha Christie, so here it is in this weeks IMM.
This week I am so excited because I found Gateway to the Gods and Brave the Betrayal (the seventh and eighth Everworld books) at the used bookstore. Which means I am only missing the lastr four books in the series.
I was also lucky enough to find And Both Were Young by Madeleine L'Engle, which surprising enough I have never read before. I also picked up Messenger which is the last book in the Giver series. Ashes of Roses is another book on the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. Plus it sounded really good.
As you can see I also made a run to the library and checked out four books.
Well that is all for me this week. Cannot wait to see what everyone else got this week. :)

  5. You gathered an interesting collection of books this week. I wish I had a used bookstore with that kind of stuff near me. I love L'Engle. I haven't read her for a while though. I wonder if you will find And Both Were Young dated now. I haven't read Agatha Christie for years either. I should see about reading a couple of them for the Flashback Challenge.
