In My Mailbox (29)

In My Mailbox was started by Kristi of The Story Siren and inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. Sadly the only books I order are those that are hard to find. The following books are from the library and bookstores.

Library:
Author: Donna Jo Napoli
Title: For the Love of Venice1
Publication Date: 1998
Synopsis: "Romance and political action set against the mystery and beauty of modern-day Venice, Italy. Percy is reluctant to accompany his family to Venice for the summer until he meets Graziella, a beautiful and passionate girl who leads him into another Venice, one that tourists never see."
Author: Joan Lowery Nixon
Title: Nightmare2
Publication Date: 2003
Synopsis: "Emily has never fit in her overachieving family. Instead of getting straight As, she sits in the back row and hides behind her hair. As a result, her parents have enrolled her at Camp Excel—an academic camp for underachievers—for the summer. Emily doesn’t want to go, and not just because she feels it isn’t necessary. She’s been plagued by a recurring nightmare since she was a child. And there’s something about this camp that feels familiar—has she been there before? Why can’t she remember?"

Author: Jaclyn Moriarty
Title: Feeling Sorry for Celia3
Publication Date: 2000
Synopsis: "A first novel of refreshingly original letters exchanged between teenage friends, refrigerator notes from a madcap mother, and darkly comic epistles from the heroine's internal voice of self-doubt. The Association of Teenagers" is coming down pretty hard on Elizabeth Clarry. What is she to do when her best friend Celia keeps disappearing, her absent father suddenly reappears, and her communication with her mother consists entirely of wacky notes left on the refrigerator? And now, because her English teacher wants to rekindle the "Joy of the Envelope" in the "Age of the Internet," a complete and utter stranger knows more about Elizabeth than anyone else."

Author: Mary Stewart
Title: The Crystal Cave4
Series: The Merlin Trilogy (book 1)
Publication Date: 1970
Synopsis: "Born the bastard son of a Welsh princess, Myridden Emrys — or as he would later be known, Merlin — leads a perilous childhood, haunted by portents and visions. But destiny has great plans for this no-man's-son, taking him from prophesying before the High King Vortigern to the crowning of Uther Pendragon . . . and the conception of Arthur — king for once and always."

The only books I got this week were ones that I checked out from the library. Two of which I have already read before (Nightmare and For the Love of Venice). I also got Feeling Sorry for Celia, which is the first book written by Jaclyn Moriarty. At the prompting of my friend Holland I decided to give a Mary Stewart book a try and came away with the first book in the Merlin series.
Non book wise: I would like to thank Katie of Katie's Book Blog who I won a pair of reading glasses5 from. I also got my Minion Bling6 in the mail from Heather Brewer
I believe that is all for me this week in books. Cannot wait to see what everyone else got. :)
