Teaser Tuesday (31)

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. To participate, simply do the following:

This week I have two teasers. One from People of the Longhouse and the other from The Dawn Country by W. Michael and Kathleen O'Neal Gear. Since I'm part of the blog tour for The Dawn Country, I thought I'd put a teaser for both books in one post (I'll be giving away both books later today,so be sure to check back for that).
