13 Little Blue Envelopes is the third Maureen Johnson book that I have read and it was by far my favorite; the other two being Girl at Sea and The Key to the Golden Firebird.
I think what made 13 Little Blue Envelopes so good were all the messages from her aunt and the crazy things that Ginny had to do in order to read the next one; and how she followed the rules even when things started going down hill.
I also loved hearing about all the places that Ginny went as she followed her aunt’s path from the time she disappeared (like, Scotland, England, Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Denmark, and Greece) to before the letters first arrived.
My favorite element of the book would have to be reading the letters from her Aunt.
Favorite part of the book would have to be near the beginning when she first got to England and how she met Keith.
The funniest part of the book would have to be when she ended up staying with that crazy family she spent time with in Amsterdam; they were frankly kind of creepy. I don't think I would have stuck around with them.
The only thing I didn’t like about 13 Little Blue Envelopes was that the end of the book was a bit predictable.
13 Little Blue Envelopes was a light, yet highly enjoyable read and I look forward to reading more books by Maureen Johnson. Does anyone know if there is actually a sequel to this book called The Last Little Blue Envelope?

ReplyDeleteThis book seems a little like a book I read called "perfect on paper". the main character in this book used to write 'honey notes' at every situation.So there are honey notes in every section.I liked those notes in the book just the way you liked the letters.This book sure do sound interesting.

And I too loved this book. It was so interesting and nice to read about ALL the different places, not just one. :)
