Teaser Tuesday (70) Infernal Devices Edition

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. To participate, simply do the following: Grab your current read Open to a random page Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
In celebration of the release of book two in the Infernal devices last week, both of my teasers will be from Clockwork Angel & Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. Hope Ya'll will enjoy the teasers and check out my reviews for both books.

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare (my review):
If there was one thing Tessa hated, it was being told that there were things she couldn't understand. Because she was young, because she was a girl-for any of a thousand reasons that never seemed to make any real sense. page 96
Clockwork Prince *ARC* by Cassandra Clare (my review coming Friday):
Then that, too, was gone, and she saw, again and again, the face of the girl from the portrait on the stairwell-the child with the fair hair and stubburn expression-saw her riding a small pony, her face set determinedly, saw her hair blowing in the wind off the moors-saw her screaming and writhing in pain as a stele was set to her skin and black Marks stained its whiteness. page 156
