In My Mailbox (95) Where My TBR Gets Longer + News

In My Mailbox was started by Kristi of The Story Siren and inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. Sadly the only books I order are those that are hard to find. The following books are from the library and bookstores.

Won:
Pretty Bad Things ARC by C.J. Skuse, 2011. Published by The Chicken House.
I was kind of surprised when I found at that I had won Pretty Bad Things, kind of forgot I had entered to win it. It sounds pretty interesting.
A big thanks to the lovelies at Novel Novice.
Acquired:
Life As We Knew It (Last Survivors, 1) by Susan Beth Pfeffer, 2008. Published by Graphia.
One of my sisters has been trying to get me to read this series for what seems like ages, so since I now have the first book I see it being read in the foreseeable future.
The Named (Guardians of Time, 1)  by Marianne Curly, 2005. Published by Bloomsbury.
I've actually wanted to read this one for ages, but I always forget the title when I go to the library. Which means this too shale be read...as soon as I get a chance that is.

I also got the Den of Shadows quartet (from Emily of Red House Books), but have passed it along to my sisters.
A big thank you goes out to Emily at Red House Books for sharing the book love.
Library:
Millennium Snow 2 by Bisco Hatori, 2007. Published by Viz Media (Shojo Beat).
I loved the first volume of Millennium Snow, so when I saw that the library had the second one in I just went ahead and checked it out. You can see my thoughts on the first volume HERE.
eV 1 by James Farr & Alfa Robbi, 2008. Published by Tokyopop.
I thought the premise of eV sounded interesting so I checked it out, of course I had first put it on hold about two months ago. I'll let ya'll know what I think about it after I read it.

And thus we have reached the end of this week's IMM. I hope ya'll have had just as great of a week in books as well.

Around the blog this week:
Review- They Never Came Back by Caroline B. Cooney (5 out of 5 pineapples)
Review- Millennium Snow 1 by Bisco Hatori (5 out of 5 pineapples)
Teaser Tuesday- Taken from They Never Came Back by Caroline B. Cooney.

  1. Pretty Bad Things sounds interesting. I'll have to borrow it after you read it. Can't wait to see what you think of it! :)

I tried reading one of the Last Survivors books (I think it was actually the second one, I picked it up randomly), but I couldn't really get into it. I'll have to give the series another try someday.

I read The Named years and years ago. I think I liked it. I must have liked it, I read the whole series. I'll have to re-read it sometime.

I didn't much care for eV. Just wasn't really my kind of thing. Hope you like it more than I did. :)

    Happy reading!

  3. Millennium Snow looks really good! Plus, it's only two volumes, so my wallet could afford the whole series.

Pretty Bad Things also looks interesting-- I hadn't seen it around before. Anyway, thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you enjoy your books. :)

  7. I got Life as We Knew It a couple weeks ago. I remember a friend (non blogger) talking about the series awhile back, she loved it! But I think I'm a bit of a book snob and I tend to only take recommendations from book bloggers seriously and I hadn't picked it up. Now that I finally own it hopefully I can fit it in. I'm a bit sick of dystopia at the moment though and already have a couple for review, so it might be awhile.
Looks like you had a great book week!

I loved Old Magic by Marianne Curly, so I'm interested to see if you like this series. I've noticed it at the store, but never picked it up.

Here's what books I received in my mailbox this week :)
