In My Mailbox (70)

In My Mailbox was started by Kristi of The Story Siren and inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. Sadly the only books I order are those that are hard to find. The following books are from the library and bookstores.

Contests:
Troll Bridge: A Rock 'n' Roll Fairy Tale *signed* by Jane Yolen & Adam Stemple
I cann't wait to read Troll Bridge! Jane Yolen is one of my absolute favorite authors.

Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely, 3) *signed* by Melissa Marr, 2009.

Wicked Lovely and Ink Exchange author Melissa Marr delivers another little masterpiece of Urban Faery, that budding subgenre. In this ethereal romance, Aislinn has achieved the fragile eternity of the title; she has become an immortal faery, complicating both her life and that of Seth, the man who loves her.
Thanks to Aine of Aine's Realm for both books and an awesome magnet from FaerieCon.
The Shifter (Healing Wars, 1) Janice Hardy, 2009.

Nya is an orphan struggling for survival in a city crippled by war. She is also a Taker—with her touch, she can heal injuries, pulling pain from another person into her own body. But unlike her sister, Tali, and the other Takers who become Healers' League apprentices, Nya's skill is flawed: She can't push that pain into pynvium, the enchanted metal used to store it. All she can do is shift it into another person, a dangerous skill that she must keep hidden from forces occupying her city. If discovered, she'd be used as a human weapon against her own people.
Thanks to Jen of Lost in the Library.

The Shifter sounds fascinating, can't believe I hadn't heard about it before I saw it mentioned in this contest. It sounds incredible and I cannot wait to read it.

My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers, 1) by Rachel Vincent, 2009.
She doesn't see dead people, but she senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.
Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next.
Thanks to Jess of Obsessionwithbooks for the book and poster.

My Soul to Take Sounds awesome, can't wait till it makes it to the top of my TBR pile.

Library:
Fruits Basket, vol 9 by Natsuki Takaya, 2004.I love this manga!

Well, this is all for me this week in books. Hope y'all had a great week.

Finally summer has arrived! While Tohru struggles through bipolar days of hope and anxiety, what will happen when Yuki comes face-to-face with the new member of the student council?! And... is Uo-chan crazy in love?! Who's that she's hanging out with?! Plus, Hana-chan's past is finally disclosed in a bonus feature! Come join the party in the 9th volume of the super-popular Fruits Basket!

For sixteen-year-old harpist prodigy Moira, the annual Dairy Princess event in Vanderby is just another lame publicity op. Twelve girls have been selected to have their likenesses carved in butter and displayed on the Trollholm Bridge. Its a Vanderby State Fair tradition that has been going on for, like, ever. As far as Moira is concerned, the sooner its over with the butter er better. About the same time and not far away, three brothers members of the sensationally popular teen boy band The Griffsons are in the middle of a much-needed road trip to relax from the pressures of their latest tour.
