Silas Marner was a well written book about a man's struggle to deal with the unjust blame of thievery against him and the toll it took on his view of those around him.  
 My only problem with the book would have to be how near the end Godfrey tried to take away the only thing that had brought any comfort to Silas since his arrival, by belatedly claiming his "right" to raising Eppie.
  Other then that one small point, I really enjoyed reading George Eliot's book Silas Marner, and recommend it to all.
