Silas Marner

Title: Silas Marner

Synopsis: "In rural nineteenth-century England, a weaver, lonely and embittered at the unjust treatment he has received from people he considered to be his friends, finds his only solace in money until he inadvertently becomes the guardian of an orphaned little girl."

Silas Marner was a well written book about a man's struggle to deal with the unjust blame of thievery against him and the toll it took on his view of those around him.
My only problem with the book would have to be how near the end Godfrey tried to take away the only thing that had brought any comfort to Silas since his arrival, by belatedly claiming his "right" to raising Eppie.
Other then that one small point, I really enjoyed reading George Eliot's book Silas Marner, and recommend it to all.

Silas Marner earns 4 out of 5 pineapples.
