Synopsis: "Bindy Mackenzie is the smartest girl at Ashbury High. She memorizes class outlines to help her teachers. She records transcripts of everything said around her. She offers helpful critiques for her fellow students. And she wears crazy nail polish to show she's a free spirit.

But then Bindy's life begins to fall apart. She can't stop feeling sleepy and she fails an exam for the first time ever. And--worst of all--she just doesn't care. What could be the cause of all these strange events? Is it conspiracy? Is it madness? Is it . . . murder?
Lots of people hate Bindy Mackenzie--but who would actually want to kill her? The answer is in Bindy's transcripts. The detectives are her fellow students. But Bindy has made every one of them into an enemy . . . and time is running out."

I really enjoyed The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie, it was fast paced (I finished it in, like, a few hours), but the format was even more wonky then it was in The Year of Secret Assignments. Character wise Bindy was very frustrating being that she was so self-centered that it just made me want to put the book down, but I couldn't because I wanted to know why she was going crazy and see if she would ever put others be herself.
I must say that I had my suspicions about certain characters which proved to be right in the end, although I was wrong on one account.
I think the thing that I have most enjoyed about the two books that I have read by Jaclyn Moriarty would be that they focus on different people in the same setting, while also loosely tying them together with previous stories without getting repetitive and bogged down.
I would definitely recommend reading both The Year of Secret Assignments and The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie and if you can find it Feeling Sorry for Celia (which I can't).

The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie has earned 4 out of 5 pineapples.
