Synopsis: "Legend states that there exists a mighty sword that makes its possessor invincible to his enemies. But there is a curse on anyone who lifts the sword for conquest. King Kareed of Archeld goes after this sword anyway, winning it from the King of Bellandra. When he returns home from battle, he brings his daughter, Princess Torina, two special gifts. One is a unique crystal, in which she can view visions of the future. The other gift is the defeated king’s son Landen, who is to be her slave. Torina immediately releases Landen, who becomes a member of the King’s army and her close friend. But trouble is lurking in the kingdom of Archeld and people are accusing Landen of plotting against the King. Torina refuses to believe he would hurt her family. Then Torina begins seeing deadly visions in her crystal. Can she save her father’s life and the future of her kingdom?"

I loved the Seer and the Sword, which just happens to have, like, the perfect balance of treachery, action, mixed with a little bit of a romantic interest to keep any reader turning the pages till the very end. Number of times I've read this book, at least eight times since I bought it. Number of times it disappoints, zero. From the very beginning you find that Torrina (what an odd name) is compassionate and free spirited (she’s also a bit spoiled and headstrong, but what princess isn’t) when she sets free Landen (her father conquered his kingdom and killed his father the king) whom her father had given to her as a slave.
As an unlikely friendship slowly develops between the two of them a conspiracy for control over the kingdom of Archeld is beginning to come to a head, as the vile Vesputo sets his evil scheme to take over the kingdom into motion and the lives of Torrina and Landen and everyone else are changed (yet again) forever.
I would definitely rank this as one of my favorite books to re-read.

The Seer and the Sword has received 5 out of 5 pineapples.

  1. I think I might have read that before, Torrina and Landen sound really familiar, but I'm not possitive. Maybe I'll read it to be sure... ;)
