Synopsis: "Fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbird has managed to settle in at the House of Night. She’s come to terms with the vast powers the vampyre goddess, Nyx, has given her, and is getting a handle on being the new Leader of the Dark Daughters. Best of all, Zoey finally feels like she belongs--like she really fits in. She actually has a boyfriend…or two. Then the unthinkable happens: Human teenagers are being killed, and all the evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey’s old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves. Then, when she needs her new friends the most, death strikes the House of Night, and Zoey must find the courage to face a betrayal that could break her heart, her soul, and jeopardize the very fabric of her world."

I guess I should start off by saying that I really enjoyed reading the second book in the House of Night series, but there are a few things that just irritate me about this series (like all the power she already has). But nothing to annoying to prevent me from catching up and finishing the rest of the series. My biggest complaint would have to be that it’s very predictable, but I don’t blame that on the authors when most books are genuinely easily to figure out when I read them.

Although I think it was cool that they didn’t shy away from killing off a pretty main character, it was still totally sad when Stevie Rae died. Being as she was, like, my favorite character in the whole series (so far).

I'm not exactly thrilled with the way Zoey is acting concerning her multiple boy issues. Especially since she seems unable to decide who it is she likes, plus I totally don't trust Loren. He just gives me some very bad vibes and it's not just that he's a teacher. Something just seems a bit off about him. I also think she should stop stringing Heath along it's neither nice nor fair to him.
I forgot to mention in my review of Marked how much I loved the twins with their finishing each others sentences, creepy, yet pretty awesome.
I can honestly say that I wasn’t taken in by Neferet’s act of being a sweet and caring individual.
I think my favorite scene in the book was when Zoey and Neferet were whispering threats to each other while pretending to hug each other.
I do like the description of Zoey's tattoos which makes them sound really cool, specially the ones on her back.
I think The House of Night series will most likely continue to improve and change with each installment.

Betrayed has earned 2 1/2 out of 5 pineapples.
