Divinicus Nex Chronicles Blog Tour: Interview with A&E Kirk & Giveaway

Guys, I am beyond excited to welcome the lovely Alyssa and Eileen, otherwise known as A&E Kirk, authors of the Divinicus Nex Chronicles to talk about their series and the newest release, Drop Dead Demons. I hope y'all will give these ladies a warm welcome to the blog.

Don't forget, you can check out my review of the first book, Demons at Deadnight, and see why y'all should be reading this series.

About the Author(s):
This mother-daughter duo were in and out of inter-dimensional paranormal prisons until they finally quit making up cover stories for secret societies and started writing novels. The Supernatural Continuum Warlords of the Supernatural Continuum Warlordian High Command had pity upon them, and instead of having them slaughtered by the slow, tortuous flesh eating underwater, earthworm squid, they transported them into a habitationally friendly dimension called OOARCHTOHUTHLAMADILFRUMP, also known as 21st Century Earth.

Due to a demon infestation in their sleepy mountain California town, and a lack of sexy Hex Boys to stop them, Alyssa and Eileen were forced to relocate to Los Angeles. The Amazon best seller, DEMONS AT DEADNIGHT, is book one in the DIVINICUS NEX CHRONICLES series, and the first of their exclusive re-creations of supernatural society secrets. You can uncover more paranormal, inter-dimensional classified information at AEKIRK.com and Facebook.com/AandEKirk.com.

Author Interview

In seven words can you tell readers about Drop Dead Demons?

Funny. Sexy. Treasure hunt. Hexy secrets revealed.

What was the hardest thing for the both of you when it came to writing the sequel to Demons at Deadnight? What do y'all think will be the most difficult thing Aurora will encounter in the second installment of the Divinicus Nex Chronicles?

We had so much going on, lots of subplots happening, new characters to introduce and integrate into the story, the hardest part was keeping focused on the main plot which was Roses threat, the treasure hunt, and Aurora staying alive!

Auroras most difficult issue always comes down to trust. Being scared to really opening up and rely on the Hex Boys as partners is a huge problem she has to overcome. Plus figuring out how to use her powers, and encountering the most dangerous demons on the planet!

As the authors of Drop Dead Demons I'm sure y'all both have the chapter you loved most. So, with that in mind, could y'all (each) share a two sentence teaser from your favorite chapter?
Matthias wouldnt want me going into his room. Nope, breaching his private inner sanctum would be considered totally off-limits. Hed freak.
I looked left. And right. Then bolted up the stairs two at a time, raced down the hall, and skidded into his open doorway.Thats when things got downright weird.

A&E: This was a tough choice, but we picked this because Aurora just survived a tense first meeting with Matthias dad and now shes on the brink discovering more about the mysterious and brooding Matthias. His room gives Aurora a lot of insight into big, bad Matty!

Last book that kept you reading late into the night?

Eileen: Skin Game by Jim Butcher. 15th in the series and still awesome! Also Outlander. Loved those sexy scenes. Jamie is so hot!

Alyssa: Proven Guilty by Jim Butcher. Im trying to catch up on the series because Mom and my brother keep talking about it and accidentally letting loose spoilers within ear shot! Its killing me!!

If you could have tea with any author, dead or living, who would you choose? What would be the first question you asked them?

Alyssa: Meg Cabot for me. I loved her Mediator and 1-800-Where-R-U series growing up. Addicted to them. Her heroines are tough, tom-boy girls kicking down doors and taking names. Huge inspirations to me. Id love know how which of her characters she is most like/identifies the most with!

Eileen: JK Rowling because Im dying to find out how much of the whole series she had planned ahead of time, and what if anything changed as she wrote it. Did she know how Harry was connected with Voldemort? Did she know who was going to live and die? Did she know each characters story from beginning to end? Id love to know.

The world has fallen to a robot invasion and only one heroine/hero can possibly save the day, who do you choose?

Alyssa: River from Firefly/Serenity. That girl is a human terminator. I want her on my side.

Eileen: Stephanie/Valkyrie from the Skullduggery Pleasant series. Shes tough, clever, has stupendous fighting skills, and also an uber dark side she can tap into when shes in a serious bind. Robot Invasions certainly qualify!

From any, young adult, book that you've read, which character would you befriend in a heartbeat? Why?

Alyssa: Suze from Meg Cabots The Mediator series. Shes sarcastic, stubborn, smart, tough, loyal and quick on her feet.

Eileen: Puck from the Iron Fey series. Hes smart, funny, loyal, devious, and Id want to be part of all of his adventures!

Thank you Orchid! Its always a pleasure hanging out with a great lady like you!

Ladies, I loved all of the answers, especially the Meg Cabot/J.K. Rowling ones.

Demons at Deadnight (Divinicus Nex Chronicles, 1) by A&E Kirk, January 5, 2012.
For seventeen-year-old Aurora Lahey, survival is a lifestyle.

DEMONIC DESTINY

Aurora has the crappiest superpower on the planet. And it’s just unleashed a hit squad from hell. Demons are on the hunt, salivating to carve her carcass into confetti.

CHARISMATIC KILLERS

The Hex Boys—mysterious, hunky, and notorious for their trails of destruction—have the answers Aurora needs to survive. But their overload of deadly secrets and suspicious motives makes trusting them a potentially fatal move.

LETHAL ALLIES

The battle to save her family, herself, and stop demonic domination may cost Aurora everything worth living for, and force her to reveal her own dark secrets. But no worries. She needs the Hex Boys to pull this off, and, chances are, teaming up with these guys will get her killed anyway.

Drop Dead Demons (Divinicus Nex Chronicles, 2) by A&E Kirk, May 27, 2014.
Survival. It’s an on-going battle.

GOING ON A TREASURE HUNT…

Aurora Lahey finally knows why supernatural slayers salivate to slaughter her, but how to stop them? Not so much. Sure, she’s discovered her own lethal powers, and has six sexy, super-charged, demon hunting Hex Boys watching her back–the hottest one watching every part of her. But when a seductive stranger delivers a deadly ultimatum, Aurora and the Hex Boys plunge into a do-or-die hunt for a legendary Mandatum treasure, which will finally shift power in their favor. Or unleash hell on earth.

NEX MARKS THE SPOT…

Pursued by demons of mythical proportions, Aurora and the Hex Boys race deeper into the shadowy world of a centuries-old mystery and brutal conspiracy, where no one and nothing is what it seems. Where love and betrayal go hand-in-hand, and trusting the wrong person not only breaks your heart, but gets you killed.

DEMONS ON YOUR TAIL…

Uncovering shocking secrets from the Hex Boys’ past, hiding her Divinicus Nex identity, lying to her pretend-wish-he-were-real boyfriend, dodging demons, breaking into ancient tombs, taking the unexpected side trip to the dark depths of the Waiting World, tracking a traitor, and passing Physics…Aurora could do that in her sleep. Or more likely, die trying.

DON’T GET CAUGHT!

  2. Great questions! We had to really think about a couple. That JK Rowling thing always interested me because there was so much happening throughout that story. I had also heard in an interview that when the first movie was being made JK Rowling took Snape (alan rickman) aside and had a long conversation with him regarding his character that no one on set was ever privvy too. I thought maybe she was giving him the Big Scoop on his character and relationship to Harry. That kind of far thinking is amazing. Anyway, thanks for having us! Always a pleasure to hang with you!
