Wish List wednesday (70)

Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, 1) by Marissa Meyer, January 3, 2012. Published by Feiwel & Friends.
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Why: Cinder totally had me at cyborg and intergalatic struggle, and the cover is so simple yet very eye catching. I am now eagerly awaiting the release of this book.

Honey and Clover 1 by Chica Umino, 2008 (originally published in 200). Published by Viz Media.

Takemoto, a sophomore art student in Tokyo, thinks his greatest worries in life are finding ways to eat more meat and getting to class on time. But with friends like his, life is never going to be that uninteresting.

Why: I've only seen the first episode of Honey and Clover, but I really enjoyed it. Plus I'm so in the mood for a lighthearted manga.
