In My Mailbox (18)

In My Mailbox was started by The Story Siren and inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. Sadly the only books I order are those that are hard to find. The following books are from the library and bookstores.

Library:
Author: Mercedes Lackey
Title: Winds of Change
Series: Mage Winds (book 2)
Publication Date: 1992
Synopsis: "In The Mage Winds trilogy, which began with the best-selling novel,Winds of Fate, author Mercedes Lackey continues the epic that started with her first published book, Arrows of the Queen introduced readers to the remarkable land of Valdemar, the kingdom protected by its Heralds--men and women gifted with extraordinary mind powers--aided and served by their mysterious Companions--horselike beings who know the many secrets of Valdemar's magical heritage. None but the Companions remember the long-ago age when high magic was lost to Valdemar as the last Herald-Mage gave his life to protect his kingdom from destruction by dark sorceries.

But now the protective barrier set so long ago over Valdemar is crumbling, and with the realm imperiled by the dark magic of Ancar of Hardorn, Princess Elspeth, Herald and heir to the throne, has gone on a desperate quest in search of a mentor who can teach her to wield her fledgling mage-powers and help her to defend her threatened kingdom."

Something has gone wrong--horribly wrong. Before long, they realize the country has been invaded, and the entire town has been captured--including their families and all their friends. Ellie and the other survivors face an impossible decision: They can flee for the mountains or surrender. Or they can fight."

Title: Fruits Basket
Series: Fruits Basket (book 4)
Publication Date: 2004
Synopsis: "When the infamous Akito makes an in-class appearance at the start of the school year, the Sohma family worries that his arrival will be an uncensored exercise of show-and-tell about Yuki's past. Author: H.G. Wells
Title: The Time Machine and The Invisible Man

Its hero, a young scientist, travels 800,000 years into the future and discovers a dying earth populated by two strange humanoid species: the brutal Morlocks and the gentle but nearly helpless Eloi."
Synopsis: "The Invisible Man mixes chilling terror, suspense, and acute psychological understanding into a tale of an equally adventurous scientist who discovers the formula for invisibility—a secret that drives him mad."

OMZ, if you haven't read Tomorrow, When the War Began yet, I highly suggest that your remedy that. I devoured it and couldn't resist getting the sequel. Fruits Basket is still awesomely funny, to bad my library doesn't have the 5th or 6th volumes. Winds of Change is awesome I am almost done with it.
Hope ya'll all had a great week in books. My computer's on the frits, so no pictures. :(
