Book Blogger Hop (2)
I had so much fun hopping around last week that I decided to join this week too. Plus I found some wonderful new blogs to follow.
"What are your feelings on losing followers? Have you ever stopped following a blog?"
When you first start out it can be a bit hard when you lose followers (especially when you don't have an abundance of them), but after awhile it just doesn't bother you any more because you realize that not everyone is going to love your blog, or what you have to say about any given subject.
Yes, I have stopped following a few blogs. Some because they had been inactive for over six months; others because I wasn't into the books that were prominently featured on their blog.

ReplyDeleteYou're right. When you first start out, it IS a bit difficult to lose followers. However, I think over time, people realize that the true value in followers are ones that really are following you because they enjoy your blog!

I'm always a little bummed when I lose followers but make every effort to
ReplyDeleteturn every lost follower into a learning experience so I can improve my
performance.
On the flip side, I only stop following people when they give me a reason to
such as being totally off message or being too controversial in an negative,
over-the-top way.

I agree. It can be hard to lose followers, but you can't take it too personally. I accept it and move on.

Stopping in from the Hop. It's a good idea not to take anything too personally as everyone's tastes are different! It's good just to enjoy blogging for whatever you enjoy and if you find others who enjoy that too, that's the bonus! Happy weekend :)

ReplyDeleteI've never really noticed a drop in followers; that doesn't mean it doesn't HAPPEN, just not in large numbers at a time. I guess if a LOT of people stopped following all at once, it would bother me. I just feel happy when someone takes the time to stop by and comment on something I've posted!
