Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. To participate, simply do the following: Grab your current read Open to a random page Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week's teasers are taken from Partners in Crime by Kim Harrington, The Night Watchman Express and Devil's Kitchen by Alison DeLuca. Enjoy.

Partners in Crime by Kim Harrington (my review):
Darcy was staring at me, her eyes sparkling. "So you're saying we should take the case?"
I took a deep breath, wondering if we were ready for all this. "I think so." page 26
The Night Watchman Express by Alison DeLuca (my review):
Miriam wanted to retort that she had been spoken to, but that might have been reflected back on Mana. On the whole, it was easier to sit and be quiet and hope to be ignored. page 87

Devil's Kitchen by Alison DeLuca (my review):
She smiled, again with that tinge of sadness. "The more I am seen, the more I will become fashionable, and in that way maybe I might encounter the Marchpanes or the Cantwells at some point." page 151-152
