I Want to Read It (28): The Terror of the Southlands

I Want to Read It, a hybrid between WLW (or WOW) and what's on my to-be read pile. Well, instead of focusing just on books I would like to acquire, I will be using it to feature books that I just want to read. From the one's I want to buy to the one's sitting on my TBR at home.

The Terror of the Southlands (The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates, 2) by Caroline Carlson, September 9, 2014. Published by HarperCollins. Source: TBR/Review Copy.
Hilary Westfield is a pirate. In fact, she’s the Terror of the Southlands! She’s daring, brave, fearless, and . . . in a rut. Maybe she hasn’t found any treasure lately. And maybe she isn’t fighting off as many scallywags as she’d like. But does that mean she and her loyal crew (including a magical gargoyle) deserve to be kicked out of the ranks of the Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates?

There is only one thing to do—find a daring mission worthy of her fearless reputation. With the help of first mate Charlie, finishing-school friend Claire, and the self-proclaimed intrepid gargoyle, Hilary sets sail on a swashbuckling expedition that may or may not involve a kidnapped Enchantress, bumbling inspectors, a mysterious group called the Mutineers, and—the most terrifying thing of all—a High Society ball.

Why: Um, because Magic Marks the Spot was hilarious and full of adventure!! Also, I'm really excited not only to see where Hilary's story leads next and to dive back into the world she lives in. I'm also excited to return to Caroline Carlson's writing as I quite enjoyed her first book and just cannot wait to see where she'll take the story next.

I'm, like, 95% sure that I have a copy of The Terror of the Southlands hiding somewhere in my room...okay, more like 80% sure. *squirrels books away* So, have you read this series?? If not, what are you waiting for?!?!?
